There is another competitor on the Internet browsing arena. QupZilla is a fast and lightweight web browser based on QT technologies. Its interface is perhaps too similar to that of Mozilla Firefox and that is perhaps why I feel it lacks personality. I really would have liked to see something new in this navigator, and not more of the same. However, it allows changing its skin to simulate the style of Chrome, Mac OS or Windows 7.
It is difficult to tell whether it is faster than other web browsers or not, but, as it is said to use the same engine as Google Chrome, QupZilla is expected to show similar browsing speeds. In addition, it offers private navigation, built-in RSS reader and ad blocker, but those are available in other browsers, too. Although it supports extensions, it certainly falls far behind Firefox in this respect.
I really liked one of its features: it supports taking snapshots of an entire webpage and saving them as PNG. You might also like the option of using it as a portable application and taking it with you on your external drive.
